The Foreign Body by Aline Velter
The idea for this shoot comes from the fact that we all have been into situations in which we didn’t fit in. We didn’t know any of the people surrounding us, we didn’t look alike in any way and we perhaps didn’t even speak the same language. We were all in some way aliens, and we had to face loneliness until we actually met our crowd.
The heroine of this story is a representation of all of us, especially during times in which the world seems to become less and less embracing. She accidentally ended up in strange place, and she doesn’t know how to leave. Because she’s different from everyone in there, she’s seen as a threat, and the only thing she can do is try to figure a way to get out on her own, and it’s during moments like that in which she realizes how strong she is, and that in fact she’s a warrior.
The choice of metallic and vinyl outfits for this story reinforces the idea of standing out in the middle of a crowd and how beautiful being different from others actually is.
